Skiing in Alston, Cumbria

Carlisle Ski Club has a snow slope located on the Middleton in Teesdale road out of Alston at Yad Moss. The club members run the snow slope whenever there is sufficient snow to ski or snowboard.

Yad Moss information and facilities: The ski area is served by a fast Poma button tow of 600m length and 120m vertical rise. It is suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders but is not really suitable for the inexperienced.

Skiing Facilities on the slopes:

The stone Day Lodge provides warmth and shelter for your picnic (please bring your own food and drinks) and is equipped with composting toilets.

You will need to bring your own skiing equipment and clothing to keep you warm and dry.

Carlisle Ski Club Membership available on a daily basis: £20 adults £10 juniors.

Apres ski: There are plenty of cosy pubs and welcoming hotels in Alston where you can eat and drink, or why not just chill out on a sofa in one of our cottages.
