Carlisle Ski Club has a snow slope located on the Middleton in Teesdale road out of Alston at Yad Moss.
The club members run the snow slope whenever there is sufficient snow to ski or snow board

Uplift: One Poma auto stacking button lift: length 630m
Vertical: 400ft (125m)
Top Station: 2380ft (725m)
Aspect: West facing
Facilities on the slopes:
There is a stone daylodge and ticket office which was recently built with lottery money and a Sports Council grant.
The day lodge has a Club Room which is heated with seating and tables and toilet facilities. The lodge also has garaging for the piste bashers: two Kassböhrers which are used to make the most of any snow.
The ticket office is at the bottom of the slope.
Carlisle Ski Club Membership available on a daily basis: £15 adults £8 juniors
Skis and boots can be hired from Alston Adventure and Training Centre at High Plains Lodge. Telephone: (01434) 381 886 - need to book the night before as they only have limited supply so can run out!

Apres ski: There are plenty of cosy pubs and welcoming hotels in Alston where you can eat and drink, or why not just chill out on a sofa in one of our cottages
